Is natural soap good for sensitive skin?
Yes — that's exactly what it's formulated for. Our soap bars are made with shea butter, olive oil, and botanical clays instead of harsh detergents or synthetic fillers, so they cleanse without stripping your skin's natural moisture barrier. If you have dry, reactive, or easily irritated skin, natural soap is often gentler than commercial bars because it doesn't rely on the sulfates and synthetic additives that tend to trigger irritation.
How long does handmade soap last?
A bar typically lasts around 4 weeks with regular daily use, depending on how often it's used and how it's stored. Because our soap doesn't contain synthetic hardening agents like some commercial bars do, keeping it on a draining soap dish between uses (rather than sitting in water) will help it last longer.
Can I use beard oil and beard balm together?
Yes, and many people find the combination works best. Beard oil absorbs quickly and conditions the hair and skin underneath, while beard balm adds hold, controls frizz, and seals in that hydration throughout the day. A common routine is oil first, balm second.
Is face oil good for oily or acne-prone skin?
It can be, if the oil is non-comedogenic — meaning it won't clog pores. Our Blue-Tansy Face Oil uses lightweight, balancing oils like jojoba and blue tansy, which are chosen specifically because they help regulate excess oil production rather than adding to it. Oily skin often overproduces sebum when it's stripped of moisture, so a light, balancing oil can actually help restore equilibrium.
What ingredients should sensitive skin avoid?
Common triggers include synthetic fragrance, sulfates (like SLS), synthetic dyes, and alcohol-based astringents — all of which can strip or irritate reactive skin. We formulate around these by using essential oils rather than synthetic fragrance blends where possible, and by relying on plant-based oils and butters instead of harsh detergents.
What's the difference between a body scrub and a bath soak?
Our body polish is a sugar-based scrub — it physically exfoliates dead skin while moisturizing oils and butters condition as you rinse. Our bath soak, by contrast, is a mineral blend of Epsom and Dead Sea salts meant to dissolve in the tub, easing sore muscles and calming tired skin through a longer soak rather than active scrubbing. Many people use the scrub a few times a week and the soak as more of an occasional, relaxing ritual.
Are your products made with essential oils or synthetic fragrance?
Most of our scents come from essential oils. A few blends also include a fragrance oil for a specific scent profile — you'll always find the exact ingredients, including any fragrance oils, listed on each individual product page.
Do you test your products on animals?
No. We test every formula on our own skin before it's ever sold, rather than through animal testing.
How much product should I use?
A little goes a long way with most of our formulas, especially the oils and balms — start with a small amount and add more if needed. Using less than you think you need is a good habit with concentrated, natural formulas.
